what is negotiation ? explains Marwa Farhat to the ACLC members

ACLC members with Miss Marwa Farhat "YALA alumna

Today was a very special day, as we've been honored to have former YALA program alumni (Marwa) share her experience and explain Conflict management and Negotiation.. She was a little bit timid but her cute accent saved the situation and made our presense worthwhile. The presentation was long ,but we could still be intrigued as she spoke about Negotiation first and elaborated on how it could be handled in a civilized way between two parties, and how it could be productive if used wisely.

We got the idea that in politics an effective negotiation is crucial in making peace.
The second part was about Apartheid in South Africa, and she did a great job in explaining it.
We traveled back to the history of Apartheid and its effect in South Africa, and we came to know its horrible atrocities to black South Africans.

Then she introduced to us a very important figure : Nelson Mandela, and we were moved to tears hearing his suffering in the name of justice and his beliefs.
This valuable session has taught us the importance of accepting others for who they are and not for their history or race. We are very grateful for that.
